Having spent a lot of time contemplating, i’ve realised that my original idea for my dissertation (the avatar) just really wasn’t appealing enough to me. It was one of the first ideas i’d had, and under pressure to write proposals and abstracts i had settled for it.
I had a good think, and the one thing i kept coming back to as a topic was radio. Having spent an interesting year in radio, it is the ideal candidate for me to base my dissertation on. I’m interested in exploring the ins and outs of radio, and its future in an ever competitive media market. I really want to get stuck in to some of the issues i came across briefly in my year at Virgin Radio in more detail.
The title im working under at the moment is “Does radio have viable role as a media platform and social tool in the future“. A little vague at the moment, but i will refine my question as i get further into my research.
Obivously this impacts heavily on my original final project idea, but i have got an awesome idea waiting in the wings. More on that later.
